Dr. Gerhard Fusch

Prof. Gerhard Fusch graduated from the Chemistry program (1990; Dipl.-Chem.) and obtained his PhD (1994, Dr. rer.-nat.) in bioinorganic and analytical chemistry at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. As a chemist at Willich GmbH, Dortmund, Germany, he developed inorganic geopolymeric insulations (1995-1997) and continued his work in the new founded spin-off company, Willit GmbH (1997-2003), as head of R&D (inorganic geopolymeric insulations and phenol formaldehyde resins) and become general manager being responsible for overseeing all administrative functions and day-to-day operation. From 2010 to 2017 he was an Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics, McMaster University and Research Associate, Department of Paediatrics, McMaster University, and the Lab Manager of the Neonatal Research Program, McMaster University with Focus on Nutrition, Growth, and Metabolism, by being the link between physicians and the lab and translating the principle investigator’s idea into manageable projects and lab work. He has managed neonatal research lab including numerous research studies, incl RCTs, in all aspects, and run the lab according to GCLP standards. He has published almost 50 papers in international, of which 9 are focused on breast milk analysis, human milk analyzer and nutrition. (Fusch G et al. Acta Paediatr. 2015; Choi, Fusch G et al.
